All About Dahlonega

Dahlonega is a small town in the mountains of North Georgia with a rich Southern Appalachian heritage. The site of the nation's first major gold rush, the town continues to celebrate the role that gold played in its development.

With six wineries, eight festivals a year, a bike ride that draws 3000 cyclists, a gold museum (a state historic site), a major university and a vibrant historic town square, tourism is a major part of the county's economy.
