Walter & Jeanie Daves Old-Time Jam 4:00 Saturday April 20 Conner Tent
The names Walter & Jeanie Daves are synonymous with old-time music and contra dancing in North Georgia, and their contribution has been tremendous. Walter & Jeanie have been playing old-time music together for over 25 years, providing music for dances, musical productions, and private parties in their community of Sautee-Nacoochee and the surrounding area. They are marvelous contra dancers, and Walter is a skilled contra dance caller. They have appeared on Dahlonega’s Mountain Music & Medicine Show as well as other variety shows, and play in two string bands—Cage Free String Band and Mountain Mayhem. Their great joy is to sit down and jam informally with other old-time musicians. |
