Curtis Jones a very influential musician in the world of bluegrass and new acoustic music and has toured and or recorded with some of the biggest names and best artists in the genre, including members of Alison Krauss’ Union Station band and Blue Highway. Curtis spent seven years on the road as a member of the Schankman Twins band, now Malibu Storm, and certainly did his part to bring that group to the forefront of bluegrass music. He was also a fulltime member of the super picking group Bluegrass ETC, and his time with this group started his success in Europe. Since that time, he has toured all over the globe. He recently recorded with country and bluegrass music star Patti Loveless.

Curtis' latest group, the Mountain Gypsy Project quartet, is a fusion of hot picking bluegrass and gypsy jazz music and has a couple of highly acclaimed recordings to its credit.

Curtis has been an instructor for the Georgia Pick & Bow Program in Lumpkin County since its inception and maintains a very active teaching schedule in addition to that. He is a much sought after instructor for workshops and clinics, and has recorded several video instructional lessons for the "Watch and Learn" video series.
