Chestatee River Ceili Band

The Chestatee River Ceili Band features a talented group of musicians from throughout Northeast Georgia who share a love of the traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Formed by Dahlonega resident Owen Devine, the group comes together once a month at The Canvas and Cork to continue the Irish tradition of a ceili, or party, where friends gather to play music, sing, dance and, maybe, share a pint.

Today’s workshop will focus on the Celtic roots of American old-time music with the band performing a variety of well, and some not so well, known tunes and songs that made the trip across the water with our Celtic forbearers.

We hope you can join the fun.
